At a ceremony that took place in late 2016, Patrick J. Gorbett and Great Lakes Cold Storage was named one of Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead Top 100 Business in Northeast Ohio. This time-honored recognition seeks to highlight the most prominent businesses across many industries in the region. Great Lakes Cold Storage has taken considerable growth strides in the last 24 months, growing their operation, employee base and overall serviceability to the Midwest region when it comes to cold storage solutions. Accepting for Great Lakes Cold Storage was CEO and President, Patrick J. Gorbett who was joined by family and many of his top employees at the event. The Weatherhead Top 100 was established in 1988 as the premier honoring of Northeast Ohio’s top entrepreneurs. Congratulations to Patrick J. Gorbett and the entire team at Great Lakes Cold Storage.
John Pellegrini, a 37-year veteran employee of Great Lakes Cold Storage, was recently honored as Warehouseman of the Year by Refrigiwear, an industry leading supplier of cold storage and warehouse apparel. Pellegrini, who began working with Great Lakes in January of 1979, earned this award atop nearly 800 applicants nationwide.
“John is a model employee,” said Great Lakes Cold Storage CEO Patrick J. Gorbett. “For nearly forty years he has come to work every day and exceeded expectations while serving as a mentor to our younger staff members.”
In its 17th year for handing out such awards, Refrigiwear gives this award out to those individuals who not only work, but succeed in the most difficult conditions while serving as examples to others. Jeff Ziegler, Regional Sales Director for Refrigiwear, recently presented the award to John in front of Great Lakes Cold Storage Director of Operations, Tom Johnson, who nominated John for this award, and a gathering of his co-workers that included Great Lakes Cold Storage CEO and President Patrick J. Gorbett.
“I’m honored to receive this award,” commented John. “There’s a lot of people who could have won this who work at Great Lakes Cold Storage, so I’m very grateful to Refrigiwear.”
For winning the Warehouseman of the Year award, John’s picture will be featured on the 2017 Refrigiwear Annual Calendar. He was also given a plaque with his name on it, a letter from the President of Refrigiwear and a complementary jacket. The entire team at Great Lakes Cold Storage congratulates John Pellegrini on this award and thanks him for his years of service.
